pot de depart, I am done, well done.

I did "Pot de part" yesterday, this is kind of small party to do socialism with your friend in France, normally for some occasion like departure, it will call pot de depart, or Pot de arrivee if some come to the team. Some friends are surprise and not believe that I will leaving the team soon.

the party was great, with more than 25 people come, in fact I just invited only the small team around me, because if I am invite people who know me, I can't image-in. Well the party was nice, warm, and full of laugh.

At the end of the session, all best friend give a good wish for me for next career and great future. And they also gave me a traditional French Knife. I am so sad to leave them is like my family but I am Happy to leave them because I will be with my family.

Culture schock, konfrontasi

Ini sebenarnya postingan lanjutan dari postingan sebelumnya, siang tadi aku sempet ngobrol dengan beberapa temen sambil ngopi, karena emang asyik kalau discuss di depan kopi machine. Ya obrolan seputar kepulanganku juga sich, mereka tanya2 aku udah dapat pekerjaan apa di tempat baru etc, etc.

Aku bilang yaa masih on discussion lah, karena ada beberapa tawaran jadi aku harus contemplating dulu all the benefit.

tapi ada hal yang menarik yang memang tidak aku ceritakan sama mereka, karena ternyata tawaran yang ada kebanyakan untuk teknologi yang 4 tahun yang lalu deh, dan ada satu tawaran untuk handle business dari teknologi 15 tahun yang lalu. Ya, itu realita di Indonesia, ternyata ilmu dan teknologi yang kita dapat di luar negri ngga bisa langsung di terapkan. Salah seorang teman di jerman bilang, wah Indonesia belum perlu teknologi canggih, yang penting murah dan mudah, kalau perlu pake kentongan instead of SMS.

Jadi bingung mau pulang atau ngga ? kalau ngga pulang yaa disini juga bosen, terlalu datar, hidup kurang tantangan, kalau ngomong kerjaan sich yaa ndak ada habis nya, lha wong orang disini pada ngga suka kerja, alhasil kita lah jadi tenaga kerjanya.

Terus, sore tadi salah seorang temen malah ngomporin, kenapa kamu harus pulang, memang ada apa disana, nothing !, aku bilang yaa aku ada keluarga :-p, kerjaan well, kinda old technology that's I agreed. terus dia bilang, techno savy macam kamu better stay here, you allways two step a head, katanya lagi. Lah emang sich, tapi kalau ngga pulang kapan maju nya bangsaku, pengennya sich nyumbang sedikit ilmu, biar kita bisa sejajar, tapi memang disini tantangannya, karena ilmu yang ada ngga bisa di terapkan secara langsung, kudu banyak customisasi. Dan temen tadi ngga puas dengan jawabanku, dia masih konfrontasi dan insist untuk membuat aku stay, dan sampai akhirnya dia bilang, well, if you don't find a job in the company, what do you do ?, aku bilang yaa find another company !!, dia bilang lagi, if you still can't find job what you are looking for, what do you do ?, aku jawab simple, well If I couldn't find a job then I will create a new job for me. Tuh bule langsung melongo dan geleng2 kepala, dia bilang you are damn crazy, karena nyerah dia cuman bilang gini, think about it, if you didn't find just back to France, your place is save here.

Halah maksa, terus aku bilang, I am sure I will find a job there, hope with European standard salary and living there, what do you think, tuh bule geblek bilang, allright, I will follow you, find two place one for you and one for me.

Nah tahu kan jawabannya, disini itu semuanya high price, sampe bule aja pengen ke Indo, doing what, is doesn't matter as long as jadi expat ha ha ha ha .

culture shock, Bagaimana mengatasinya

culture shock, pasti banyak di alami oleh orang yang tidak tinggal di negara nya sendiri, biasanya begitu keluar dari negara sendiri orang tersebut akan mengalami culture shock, dan ini merupakan bagaian dari process penyesuaian. Setelah sekian lama orang tersebut tinggal dan harus kembali ke negara asalnya, biasanya orang tersebut akan mengalami double culture shock, kenapa ?

ada banyak hal yang membuat itu bisa terjadi, biasanya kalau orang pergi ke negara maju dan kembali ke negara berkembang pasti akan ada kesenjangan teknologi, pola fikir, atau the way of life. Kalau orang tersebut pelajar atau mahasiswa, terkadang ilmu yang di dapat di negara maju kelewat tinggi dan ngga bisa langsung di applikasikan. Gitu juga dengan orang yang bekerja, pasti ada banyak hal yang sangat berbeda 180 derajat dengan dunia kerja selama dia berada di Luar negeri.

Lalu bagaimana mengatasi persoalan tadi ?

Saya sendiri juga sedang mencari jawabannya, karena suka atau tidak suka saya akan mengalami culture shock juga, Saya tidak takut akan hal ini, saya hanya ingin cobe mereduce volume dari culture shock ini supaya ndak terlalu banyak berdampak dalam kehidupan.

Just Landed and ready to do something new.

Just arrived from Abu Dhabi on Thursday night, it was very hot there around 35C but it was good for everything was great, the project was delivered on-time and very successful indeed, thanks to all local team who support me, it was nice working with you. On last day before leaving Abu Dhabi, I have small time frame to enjoy the time to take a picture. My self and one of the friend who also like to do a photography hunting together and his a Mr. Canon....

We were in Emirates Palace, this a palace where the syeik are living, but this is also a hotel and manage under Rizt Carlton, the king of emirates are living on 5th floor,this palace probably has 5000 rooms, and you can rent the room also because this like a hotel, where you have to paid 1000 Euro per night, and this is the entry class of the room. Wow, I can't image-in, but I am promise to my self, someday I will stay in this hotel for 2 weeks, arrff I am dreaming again ;)


Abu Dhabi is quite place compare to Dubai, where you will found a lot traffic jam in Dubai, here in Abu Dhabi is nice, calm event bit hot. So far the interesting things is only shopping since there is no tax, the price is quite less expensive compare with price in France, at least you reduce 20% since no tax, not so bad isn't?

but Abu Dhabi is not a good place to buy gadget, not so many place, event I found the camera shop, look on price of lens, Hog kong Prince still the best in the world. Any body will go to Hong Kong ?? please let me know ?

so what the best to buy here ? the answer is gold. that's my local colleague told me, but I am not gold fanatic, so just have a look and its really nice, you will found many type of jewelery here, and some people told the price less expensive compare to Dubai.

After 6 hours and half flying with Ethihad, national airways company of Uni Arab Emirates, I am landed in Charles de Gaulle, Paris. The flight was awesome, the service is very good, entertainment is great, and food is very nice, is same level of service such Singapore airlines.

I am off on Friday, I am enjoy a bit Paris during the evening and night, spent time with friends, and prepare all the stuff to pack and sent it back to home since I will leaving soon.

I am glad because the last part is well done, hope I will leaving the country with lot's of glory, I am Happy and for me everything is very close to the end.

I am ready to start another life................. in another place with whole family, wish me luck for the next step......
